Our Library is Looking Great!

For students who have not been to the Robert C. Byrd Library yet, here is a little snapshot of what we have to offer. This is only half of our Library. I hope that you can come in and enjoy the wonderful books and resources that we have to offer!

Finding the Right Book!

Robert C. Byrd's library offers thousands of books to choose from. Students don't have time to look through each book, so I have a way that you can find the book that you want in minutes. I have created steps for you to use to help you find that perfect book.

1. Go to http://destiny.harr.k12.wv.us. This is where our online collection can be seen. 

2. Select Robert C. Byrd High School.

3. Click over to Catalog.

This will take you to a page that allows you to type in what you are searching for. 

4. You are going to type in what you are looking for in the Find section.

5. Next, you are going to pick whether what you just typed is the Keyword, Title, Author, Subject, or Series.

6. Once you select the correct area you will then be shown the books that we have available that meets your criteria that you have given.

This search is great for looking for the perfect book to read for fun or even to look for books that you need to find for homework or a project.

 Example:

I want to see if we have any books written by Nicholas Sparks.

1. I'm going to go to Destiny.

2. I'm going to select Robert C. Byrd High School.

3. I'm going to click on the Catalog section.

4. Next, I'm going to type in Nicholas Sparks in the Find area.

5. I'm going to select Author.

Looking at the picture: I get a list of 18 books that Nicholas Sparks has written that we have in our library. This will also tell you how many are available at that time.
